Transfer your domain

Move a domain you already own to Domainseum. Most transfers add one year to your registration.

How a transfer works

  1. Remove the transfer lock

Turn off the transfer lock at your current registrar.

  2. Get the authorisation code

Your current registrar provides it. It is also called an EPP code or auth code.

  3. Send it to us

We start the transfer. You approve it when your current registrar asks you to.

Before you start

  • Registered more than 60 days ago

Most endings cannot be transferred in the first 60 days after registration or a previous transfer.

  • Up to 7 days

Most transfers complete within 5 to 7 days. Your website and email stay online while it happens.

  • Your DNS stays the same

The nameservers do not change during a transfer unless you change them.

  • .co.uk and .uk

These transfer by changing the IPS tag at your current registrar. No code is needed.

Transfer questions

Will my website go offline?

No. A transfer changes the registrar, not the nameservers. Your website and email keep working.

Do I lose the time left on my registration?

No. The remaining time is kept, and most endings add one year from the current expiry date.

Can I transfer out later?

Yes. Ask us for the authorisation code at any time.
